When starting a page that has a subtitle, should you begin that page with the subtitle at the top of the page or is it ok for substitles to begin at the middle of the page?
Are you being paid/graded by the page? If so, by all means start a new page. And slip one in that says "This page intentionally left blank." if you can. But seriously, I think either way is just fine, as long as you are consistent. Either start all of them on new pages or none of them.
well. i have always seen subtitles anywhere on the page. Wherever you decide to start writing for that subtitle. Think if newpapers. They dont go all the way back to the top to start another story. the just put the title bold but not BIG . Thats a subtitle
In APA headings can appear anywhere on the page, but they should be on the same page with their content. In other words, you don't want to start a heading at the bottom of page 3 and start the content of that heading at the top of page 4. To ensure all you headings stay where they belong (and assuming you are using MS Word), highlight your heading, right click it, and select paragraph. Click the Line and Page Breaks tab and check the box that says Keep with next. This way no matter what you do while editing your paper the heading will always keep with it's content.
