Calculate the volume of a cylinder that has a diameter of 8 inches and a height of 3 inches. A. 24 in.³ B. 151 in.³ C. 604 in.³ D. 75 in.³ E. 43 in.³ this is what i got: The volume of a cylinder is defined as pi times the radius squared times the height. First, find the radius. Since the diameter is 8 in, the radius is 4 in. (half of 8). 3.14 times 4 squared times 3 = 3.14 x 16 x 3. The volume is 150.72 cubic inches.

should i just pick b ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

volume = cross sectional area x height = (8/2)^2 pi x 3 = 151

since that's the closest one and every other choice is way off.
