Cynthia's collection of DVD movies includes four action movies, three comedies, three mysteries, two science fiction, and three horror. If she picks tow movies at random without replacing them, what is the probability that she will pick two comedies? A) 1/35 B) 1/25 C) 1/5 D)3/70 Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is 15 movies and 3 comedy ones First pick: 3 out of 15 chance to pick comedy (3/15) Second pick: Now there is only 14 movies left and 2 comedy ones - because it is assumed that a comedy movie was picked beforehand and they are not replaced. So now there is a 2 out of 14 chance to pick another comedy (2/14) Now you multiply these probabilities to get the final probability (3/15) * (2/14) = 6/210 which is simplified to (1/35) . A.
