4x^(2)-3xy+5y^(2)+10xy-17y^(2)-11x^(2)-5xy+12x^(2)-2xy i need work shown step by step

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pair like terms then do simple math. Like (4x^2 -11x^2) - (3xy+10xy-5xy-2xY) and so on

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

you can add together the coefficients of terms that have the same "variable composition" as the best way i can put it e.g. "4x^2" can be added to "-11x^2" to get -7x^2, but you can't add "4x^2" and "5y^2" because they don't have the same variables

i need work shown step by step

shouldn't you try the problem instead? we're here to help you get the answer, not give it to you! :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(4x^2 -11x^2+12x^2) - (3xy+10xy-5xy-2xy) + (5y^2-17y^2) Can you get it from here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks...is the answer 5x^2-12y^2? Should there be another step before the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That should be it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you.
