A cell has undergone DNA replication and the number of chromosomes has doubled. What will happen next?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the cell begins to split soon afterwards

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you are referring to mitosis, the cell undergoes DNA replication during the INTERPHASE. After this, the cell goes through PROPHASE, METAPHASE, ANAPHASE and then in TELOPHASE, the cell actually splits. The person before me is right, it does split after, but there are a few more processes in between. Meiosis is quite different however. Tell me if you need further explanation on any of the two.
