Is the slope of this graph -0.5? http://minus.com/mgQEcyzLM/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don;t think so

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then what it is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Close, but not quite. take 2 points, say (0,6) and (9,2) m = (2-6)/(9-0) = -4/9

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

same as my answer^. :)

alright, and one more thing, on a test, would you reccomend that i use the two farthest away points in order to get a accurate slope?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(1,5.5) isn't really a point of this graph, eventho it's close. Doesn't really matter I guess, you just need to pick those that seem to be exactly on an intersection. For sure, if they're farther away, even if you're not picking an exact point, the error will be much less

alright thanks for the help!
