Question

hello... who in here would like to join a study group related to electrical engineering in the field of electronics? We are going to start from the very beginning. However, a background in circuits theory is needed. We are going to start on April 9th. If you dont have any background in circuits you would study hard from now to April 8th to learn the basics you need to learn first. We will tell you the core knowledge you need to start with us in April 9th.

Not to be rude, but Arctic is right you cant make a group unless its run through by a mod.

Arctic, what's your problem? I think I dont need to be famous to post anything here or do you think you are the only one who can because you have 68 fans?... Carniel I dont have to be a mod because what I want to do has nothing to do with openstudy specially, in fact I find it just like a yahoo answers but related with studies... that's not what I propose in my post... If I came here is because here I may get people who might be interested...

I was just telling you what was needed if you wanted a group in openstudy. The only person getting mad right now is you. Don't get mad at people when there just helping or trying to. Btw this is nothing like Yahoo answers. If you think that is better than Openstudy go use it instead of this...

I see both of your points, and I totally understand what you are both trying to say. I think there has been some miscommunication here. Wouldn't it be great if we could all understand each other perfectly, and try to be polite? :)

@EduardoKnizalez : first of all, you are absolutely right in trying to create a study group. Till very recently, we allowed users to create groups. However, we have, after much deliberation, disallowed that functionality. We tried to communicate that to every user, but evidently we didn't reach you. I apologize about that. If you would really like us to consider creating this group, please email "contact[at]openstudy[dot]com" with details about your group and how many people do you have willing to join it and be active in it.

@carniel : I appreciate your effort to help eduardo, I really do! Thank you. I understand that you were trying to tell him that people cannot create groups anymore. However, there was a misunderstanding and tempers got flared. I encourage you to continue helping people, and as a favor to me, try to be just a little more patient; not everyone is as familiar with OpenStudy :)

@EduardoKnizalez First of all, you post something that can be easily considered spam, there being no information on who are, what you are doing, how will you be doing this etc etc, your profile shows ( http://openstudy.com/users/eduardoknizalez) how desperately you want to advertise it.
Secondly if you think your initiative has nothing to do with openstudy then why not accept the fact @Carniel stated clearly, private groups are no longer allowed?

The thing you are trying to do here, is a good cause and i appreciate that but there are better methods to show that instead of spamming with some baseless post all around.

You're right, you dont have to be famous to post anything, but your idea is disgusting telling me that I am bragging about being famous, on the contrary I am nowhere near famous.

Darthsid, yes I really would like to create the group but first I need to let the people know about and I came here exactly for that... I didn't plan at first to create it here as a formal studygroup because I dont have such option... But if it's possible surely I will contact you...

Arctic, I think I was clear enough in my post, who I am, that's the function of my profile isn't it? I'm a student, what am I doing, precisely wanting to gather people to start some joint learning... and how will we do it is a very long issue to be exposed clearly in a single post. May be I had to specify we wouldn't work here at the very start... I didn't do it because I thought it was obvious since we are not allowed to create private groups in here... When Cariel said I had to be a mod I thought he was saying that for posting what I was posting I had to be a mod, I apologized to him. I posted the same message in different studygroups of course in order to being read for more people... I think I will post it again in a shorter way trying to specify more and then I will see if I contact darthsid in the case it would be possible to open a studygroup for this when I get enough people.
