Directrix (directrix):

The additive inverse of a polynomial is also called its opposite. But, both the polynomial and its opposite are additive inverses of each other. Two polynomials are additive inverses if they are opposites of each other. That means that the sum of the polynomial and its additive inverse is the additive identity of 0. If you wanted to find the additive inverse of the polynomial (x^2 - 7), you would add it to its additive inverse of - x^2 + 7 and get a sum of zero.
