The figure below shows two triangles that were constructed using a compass and straightedge. Bobby used the AAS postulate to prove that triangle ABC is congruent to triangle DEF. As part of the proof Bobby showed that angle BAC is congruent to angle EDF, and angle BCA is congruent to angle EFD. Using these two congruencies, which of these other steps would Bobby have likely performed to prove that the two triangles are congruent by the AAS postulate?

A) Place the compass on B and set the width to side BC. B) Place the compass on A and set the width to side AC. C) Place the compass on B and draw a pair of arcs that meet at C. D) Place the compass on B and draw an arc that crosses side BC at X and side AB at Y.

I'm not good at geometry :( but I'll msg someone who's good okay?!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks :)

okay I msgd someone so hopefully they can help! I actually had a B in geometry...but I forgot all of it after I finsihed schol last year haha

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

i never studied this using postulates. :'(

Thanks . I got a 'C' in geometry but I started being home schooled & my mom put me back in it on accident.. :/ I forgot it all after 10th grade !!!! Haa.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

do you know AAS meaning?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Angle Angle Side Postulate ?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

@lgbasallote @wasiqss

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Yes.. the answer should be something to that. im sorry but i suck at AAS and crap.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

me too :( lol

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

you tagged saif?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Yes. can u solve this?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

@jhonyy9 @Akshay_Budhkar @Luis_Rivera

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

AC congruent by DF - so hence there are angle-side-angle

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

ok ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks :)

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

yw good luck bye
