simplify both fractions 6(x -2)(x-7)/8(x-2)(x-3) = 3(x-7)/4(x-3) next the devisor (x + 8)(x -7)/2(x+8)(x -2) = (x-7)/2(x -2) when dividing, flip the 2nd fraction and multiply \[3(x-7)/4(x-3) \times 2(x -2)/(x-7) = (6(x-2)(x-7))/(4(x-3)(x-2))\] cancelling common factors gives \[3(x -7)/2(x - 3) = (3x - 21)/(2x - 6)\]
