What is the equation of the graph below

OpenStudy (anonymous):

answers: y = -1(x - 3)2 - 2 y = -1(x + 2)2 - 3 y = 1(x - 3)2 - 2 y = 1(x + 2)2 - 3

It is obviously a graph of x^2. It is flipped upside-down so it is actually -x^2. Translations on the x axis are done with x, since it is moved two to the LEFT, you get (x+2)^2. Translations on the Y axis are done outside the function and since it is translated DOWN 3, you will get a -3 on the end. ANSWER: -(x+2)^2 -3
