I am stuck on long division of polynomials. Can anyone help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I do not understand it. I am hoping I understand synthetic but for right now I am just trying to conquer long division.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

send the link..i'll see if i can really help u

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't have it online. It's 3t + 6 / 3

OpenStudy (mertsj):

That is not a long division problem. Factor 3 out of the numerator and reduce the fraction.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

\[\frac{3t+6}{3}=\frac{3(t+2)}{3}=t+2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you factor it into the top, then why is it still on the bottom? I do not understand my low understanding of this. I have a 94 average in this class and I'm about to kiss it goodbye all over division. Nice.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

do you know how to do long division of numbers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I do, amistre64. I just realized it's just the same, minus adding letters. Lol.
