If there were no producers everything would die out. If there weren't any decomposers then the world would stink :( They break down the dead things in the world so yes it would smell like if there was garbage and dead things everywhere. The animals need the producers since the primary consumers eat them. If there wasn't any then the second or tertiary consumers can't eat.
