point is (2, -3) the line shown looks like y = 2/3x + 3 m = 2/3 the gradient of the perpendicular is -1/m the perpendicular has a gradient of -3/2 then y = -3/2x + b sub (2, -3) to find b -3 =-3/2 *(2) + b b = 0 the line perpendicular to the given line and passing through ( 2,-3) is y = -3/2 x
