Why is the RAM of chlorine is not an integer. It is 35.5 ? explain.

OpenStudy (callisto):

It's the weighted average of different Chlorine isotopes, that is Cl-35 and Cl-37

OpenStudy (callisto):

RAM is calculated according to the relative abundance of isotope Let say (i just make it up, okay?) Cl-35 is about 75% Cl-37 is about 25% So, RAM = 35x75% + 37x25% = 35.5, understand?

Very clear indeed. Thx.

OpenStudy (callisto):

welcome :)
