Will doing this course help if I need to learn other languages such as say C C++ Or Java?
Well, if you watched the first video, he said he will be explaining the basic concepts with python, but that it would allow one to easily pick up other languages in a few weeks.
Can also assure you that what John Guttag said in Lecture 1 is true (see Vlek's answer). After you learned the concepts and syntax inside python you can transfer your skills into other p.languages, how easy that is, depends on yourself and the differences between the two involved p.languages (so what they offer and what you have to apply different). In general the knowledge given is universal. What you may want to do is, first using python since it leaves less doubts & questions when something isn't working as shown and move into another p.language after being done with all lessons of 6.00SC (along with understanding & practical use of the knowledge gained).
