On a floor plan, a porch in the shape of a trapezoid has an area of 2.5 square feet. If the floor plan has a scale of 1:15, what will be the actual area, in square feet, of the porch when it is built?

It is a ratio 1:15, so you take the 2.5 and multiply by 15 and get 37.5 sqft.

if the scale is 1 to 15 then the area should be 15^2 times the original area...
the area will be (225 * 2.5) = 562.5 square feet.
