A rectangle is one-fifth as tall as it is long. If its height is reduced to one-half of its current height, what is the ratio of the new rectangle's perimeter to the original rectangle's perimeter?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

Lets say the original rectangle has the dimensions 1 by 5. perimeter = 12 cut the height in half so you get 1/2 new dimensions are 1/2 by 5 new perimeter = 11 --> ratio = 11:12

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

remember you can make up any dimensions you want as long as they agree with the parameters given
