In a family with 2 children, excluding multiple births and assuming that a boy is as likely as a girl at each birth, what is the expected number of boys?

I think it is about probability in each birth, there is 1/2 chance to get a boy. There is two children and each birth has one child. Therefore, (1/2)+(1/2) = 1 boy Is this right?
