AC is to AD as AD is to AB
12/AD = AD/ 3
(AD)^2 = 12*3
AD = 6

for theta in quadrant 1,

the remaining side can be found by Pyth. thm.
=sqrt(1^2 - 0.56 ^2)=0.828
cos theta = 0.828 / 1 = 0.83
