I am looking at a loaded common collector circuit (I think). The input is a microphone, and the ouput is a speaker @8Ohms. The speaker has little or no sound coming out (in theory). Is this because the voltage gain is reduced at the output? Could I say the problem is that the signal has less amplitude than when it started. The circuit shows many component values. Could the problem be fixed with changing one of those, or should a second circuit be coupled to this one?
can you provide a schematic of the circuit? there are a few reasons why a speaker doesnt work properly. amp failure, or no amp, no impedance match, improperly tunes LC tank circuit. etc.
Sorry I didn't respond sooner. It was not a common collector amplifer. That was why it didn't work--poor impedance matching. I am an amp noob. I have difficulty recognizing common emitter, collector, and base amps :(
