to find the area of a triangle is it b x h or b+h

Directrix (directrix):

Neither. A = (1/2) b * h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know about the 1/2 but its multiplication thx

Directrix (directrix):

I used the * to indicate multiplication. I know we're not doing Algebra now but when you do, the variable x will turn up frequently. If x is used to mean multiply and x represents a variable and if they are both in the same problem, confusion reigns. So, I rarely use "x" to indicate multiplication.

Directrix (directrix):

area of a triangle is (1/2) x b x h --> how about this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i understood the first time ... but il give u the good answer for explaining
