change these 2 fractions in to decimals please: 6/10=? and 78/100=?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

6/10 = 0.6 Notice that we're dividing by 10. So we take 6 and write it as 6.0 and then move the decimal point 1 spot to the left to get 0.6 78/100 = 0.78 Here we're dividing by 100. So we have 78 = 78.0 and then we move the decimal point to the left 2 spaces to get 0.78

or you can divide 10 into 6, or 100 into 78 using long division to get the same answer. :)
