Find the common difference of the arithmetic sequence 11,34,57,80,......

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what is 34-11?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

23

OpenStudy (amistre64):

good, then youve found your common difference of your arithmetic sequence

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so thats the answer? Im having a hard time with sequencing

OpenStudy (amistre64):

thats it. each term differs from the next by a common value of 23

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if youve ever learned your multiplication tables; then youve done arithmetic sequencing already.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

if you want the formula for common difference..it's A_n - A_(n-1) so lez say you pick A2 which is 34..subtract A_1 which is 11 from that.. @amistre64 if only fool's arithmetic progression were like these huh? common differences..

OpenStudy (amistre64):

3,6,9,12,15,... 4,8,12,16,20,32, ... thats all it is; except for a "shift" sometimes

OpenStudy (amistre64):

:) yeah
