so it's 70? since 70 mult. by 2 but have to split equally between 7 and x =70?

No, x+y=360, according to my definiton of x and y, because they add up to a full circle. According to one of the theorems I don't remember the name, (y-x)/2 is equal to that angle tangent to the circle, i.e. 70 degrees. Solve the system of equations, and x is what you are looking for.
I'm confused on how to solve, I don't get what you're saying... like, how can I find both?
