What is the difference between a voltage source and a current source. Battery is a voltage source, i guess. Any example of a current source?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A current source varies the output voltage to maintain the desired current. A voltage source has a constant output regardless of the current draw .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A Van de Graaff generator is an example of a high voltage current source. The Van de Graaff generator can be thought of as a constant-current source connected in parallel with a capacitor and a very large electrical resistance.

Ok, but what is the practical use of a current source? What type of circuits needs a constant current source?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A current source is an electrical or electronic device that delivers or absorbs electric current. A current source is the dual of a voltage source. Amplifiers circuits need dependent/in dependentent current sources .(vccs.cccs,etc)!!!!

some circuits are!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
