what is v=20 sqrt273+117

OpenStudy (roadjester):

HUH?

OpenStudy (roadjester):

What are you trying to do? You need to be more specific as to what your question is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The velocity of sound in air is given by the equation v=20 sqrt273+t where v is the velocity in meters per second and t is the temperature in degrees Celsius. Find the velocity when the temperature is 117ºC. Round to the nearest meter/sec.

@roadjester

OpenStudy (roadjester):

Well, velocity is a vector quantity and temperature is a scalar quantity so I would assume you just plug in and round...so 447 m/s

Tiara wants to divide a square piece of paper into two equalivalent triangles. If the square measures 20 cm on each side, what will the third side of each triangle measure?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@robtobey help

OpenStudy (roadjester):

20sqrt(2)

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

\[20 \sqrt{273}+117\]/

OpenStudy (roadjester):

It's geometry. If the two sides of each square are both 20cm, the third will be xsqrt2 or 20sqrt(2) cm.
