What are the cut points for -x^2+9>0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Isn't there two? Or is it just one? O.o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sry, only -3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I see you guys typing but nothing is showing up... ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

answer is -3

OpenStudy (amistre64):

-x^2 +9 > 0 9 > x^2 x = 3, -3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh I see. Thank you guys!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the graph is a parabola with vertex at -9y. It cross the x axis at 3, -3. But you have -x^2+9>0 so 3 is not included

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the open interval from -3 to 3 is greater than 0 (-3,3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x ^{2}-9<0\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 not an option
