there are 5 rectangles in this problem as there is no top. the ends and front & back will have the same area front 4 x 6 =24 double to get front and back 48 ends 3 x 6 = 18 double to get left and right end 36 bottom 4 x 3 = 12 12 ---- surface area of the box 96 inches square Paper sheet area 14 x 14 = 196 inches square left over = 196 - 96 = 100 inches square
