My little brother is in 3rd grade and his doing fractions on which is less equal to and more than but i dont know how to teach him (or explain) to him on how to identify them cause he can't use a calculator in school .

So now you should teach him what the Common denominator is: 7/8 + 17/ 12 + 23/ 4 Since 4, 8 and 12 all have the same factor 4: 7/ (2 * 4) + 17/ (4 * 3) + 23/ 4 Now multiply: 7 * 3 + 17 * 2 + 23 * 6 All three now have the same denominator 24
