multiply by 4 subtract 17 change the sign

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\LARGE \frac{17-x}{4}=-10\] use cross multiplication ... and you'll have... 17-x=-40 then move 17 to the right side and you'll have... -x=-41-17 -x=-58 multiply by -1 both sides and you have.. x=58

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Multiply both side by 4 (17-x)=-10(4) 17-x = -40 Subtract 17 from both side -x = -57 Multiply both side by -1 x = 57

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=57 I made A mistake... I changed -40 into -41 ... but I guess you know the steps ;)
