Which organelle is site of ribsome production an animal cell?
Do you mean which organelle produces ribosomes themselves, or you do mean which organelle ribosomes associate with when they produce proteins?
I believe is nucleolus
yep. its nucleolus. It is site for synthesis and assembly of rRNA and other protein
Technically it is the nucleolus yes, but the ribosome isn't fully produced until it enters the cytoplasm. The ribosomal RNAs are created and modified in the nucleolus, then they're further modified in the nucleus, and all the while the ribosome proteins are being created and modified and imported back into the nucleus from the cytoplasm, and then the full-fledged ribosome is properly assembled in the cytoplasm. For instance, there are dummy plugs "placed in" the ribosome during its early stages of development (meaning the dummy plugs are attached to the rRNA) so that way it is not improperly assembled while in the nucleus. The dummy plugs are proteins that look like cytoplasmic proteins, and they're put in so to "hold a place in line", so that way the particular area they are in will be empty whenever the ribosome enters the cytoplasm.
