myininaya (myininaya):

So I seem to have got a repeat private message.

OpenStudy (mattfeury):

ORLY? Is it still there after a refresh? This one is a doozy because there's nothing to stop people from posting the same message twice. So it's very possible for it to just be "user error," which is my favorite type of errors. But, I have heard this from a few others. Message sending seems to get a bit angry sometimes.

myininaya (myininaya):

Ok so it is showing there now. And after I refresh...

myininaya (myininaya):

It is still there.

OpenStudy (mattfeury):

Bupkis. So there must be two messages actually saved on the server. Either the sender accidentally sent it multiple times or our code is doing something wonky. We'll have to have a look.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

i have problem sending too..like i press send and it just loads. when i press Ctrl + A then send again..sometimes it gets sent..but sometimes it sends double..any comments on those @mattfeury ?

myininaya (myininaya):

Hey @mattfeury while I did get a repeat message back to back, I was actually talking about another repeat message initially . I remember this exact same message from someone but I cannot find it in my received past and it was sent to me awhile ago.

myininaya (myininaya):

And I got it again today. Just thought it was weird, but I don't mind hearing good things about me again. lol

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

The sending = just loading thing is actually the likely reason why things send double—it doesn't appear to work, and by the time it does, you've already sent it again. We're looking into it!

myininaya (myininaya):

@shadowfiend but the thing I was talking about I got the same message twice with a good amount of time in between the "receivings" and I can no longer find it in my receive past.

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

If you can't find it there's not much I can do, I'm afraid :/ Most likely in that case someone just sent you a repeat message. The messages don't bounce around for an extended period of time.

myininaya (myininaya):

Ok. It doesn't really bother me. I was just making you guys aware in case you did want to know. Thanks.

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

Mos def. We'll keep an eye out for repeat occurrences, thanks!
