Area of Triangle = 1/2BH
First find the area of the parallelogram:
Height: 9, Base = 16
A= 9*16 = 144
Now find the area of the triangle:
Height = 9, Base = 7
A= 1/2*9*7 = 63/2
=31 1/2
Area of Shaded = 144 + 31 1/2
= 175 1/2
