For this problem it would be easier to find the area of the rectangle then subtract the area of the triangle.
Area of rectangle = BH
Base = 38, Height = 15
= 38 * 15 = 570
Area of triangle = 1/2BH
Base = 38, Height = 15-8 = 7
= 1/2 * 38 * 7 = 133
Area of Rectangle - Area of Triangle :
570 - 133 = 437
