Please simplify this question for a medal, i am stuck: x+7 x^2-3x-40 ---- - --------- 7x+35 x-8
please show work
do you want help or an answer?
help
is it equal 0?
i don't know
first, get the denominators to be equal.
it may help you beforehand to get hte one on the upper right hand corner to be simplified, or whatever it is called.
also, I have thoughts along the same line with melinda. why are you here.
I will help you assuming it is equal 0 x+7/7x+35 - (x² -3x-40/x-8) = 0 multiply by (7x+35)(x-8)
Do that to the numerator.
for the denominators, just multiply it by the denominator of the other fraction.
are you following, rememberwhen2012?
yes
what would the denominators be if i multiply them?
i think you're smart enough to try that out. you do it first; we'll tell you how it worked out.
would the denominator be: 42x-8?
how did you get that?
and please dont try to frustrate us into giving you the answer. and please don't argue that. there are many users here like you.
?
take it easy, nottim. let's help her out
i dunno. im being a little upset with the users that i help nowadays.
me too, but we cant just generalize
can somone just show me the first step, then i might be able to finish the problem
rememberwhen2012, if you multiply both sides by (7x+35)(x-8), what you're gonna get?
and then show oyu the next step, all the the way to the answer. why not.
7x^2-280
that has to be wrong
