If a child in 3rd grade scores an average equal to that of a 5th grader, he is above average, and possibly a savant. If he scores average of that to a kindergartener, he has a learning disability. Savant: one who excels in one area of intelligence. A good book to read on an autistic savant is "Born on a Blue Day". I highly recommend it. (:
