I think i got this right: Which equation is NOT a quadratic equation? A. y = x^2 + 6x - 5 B. y = 2x + 5 C. y = 2x^2 + 5 D. y = 4x^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

deg(f(x))>1 is a quadratic therefore B is linear not quadratic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

@CoCoTsoi The degree has to be exactly 2 to be a quadratic. So while B is correct, if the degree were 3 it would not be a quadratic. Rather, it would be a cubic.

Okay thnk u guys very much ;)

@kinggeorge, you are right. I have made a mistake. Thanks for teaching me. :D
