correct yes or no? im not asking for answers just if im right or wrong 1.(-x^2 y)^4 A: x^8 y^4 2.What will the exponent be when you simplify the following problem(p^3)^4 A; 12 3.(5x+7y)- (3x - 2y) A:2x + 5y 4.4x^2y^2 +2xy - 1 is an example of a binomial. 5.(2 b c^3)^2 (-3b) simplified A: -12 b^3 c^6 if there are wrong answers some advice to understand it please
yes, yes, no, no, yes
do you know where you went wrong??
the binomial wrong one is a degree then?
in binomial there are only two
#3 you should look at the signs
binomial means two terms...count the operating symbols..if there is one -> monomial..two -> binomial...three -> trinomial...four -> polynomial
well actually all of them are called polynomial..no official term for four or more terms
oooh theres three sorry i had only seen two
what about #2? do you see your mistake?
yeah i see the mistake just dont get it
don't get it? what do you mean?
maybe im not that lost lets see is the 2x part correct or no
nope :p remember to distribute the negative sign ;D
@lgbasallote sorry, (4x^2y^2 + 2xy - 1 is an example of a binomial) what do you mean by operating symbols, isn't there only 2? the + and the - ?
does it start with 8x then if it does i am lost cus now im just guessing
hmmm it's not a binomial..it was my explanation that wasd wrong i guess..lemme revise that..no operating symbol (+ or -) monomial...1 -> binomial..2-> trinomial..sorry bout that
ahh i understand now :) thank you
no @suzy4321 it does not start with 8x either =)) try typing your distibution here so i may see where you're going wrong
(5x + 7y) - (3x - 2y) thats the original prob i figured it was 2x + 5y 7-5=2 3+2=5 the x 8 i told u i was guessing so thers no explanation
hmmm..like i said distribute the negative symbol so... (5x+7y) - (3x - 2y) (5x + 7y - 3x - (-2y) ) (5x + 7y - 3x +2y) do you see the mistake now?
ok yeah the -2 changed
right! so you know the answer now right?
right ! thank you lgb....
<tips hat>
jaja yeah good performance
