If there was a sudden drop in temperature on early Earth, how would the oxygen levels effect cyanobacteria

OpenStudy (carniel):

Bacteria needs oxygen if I remember correctly. So it would be destoryed.

Well, apparently at the time in early Earth, there was little to no oxygen present in the atmosphere. Cyanobacteria is an autotroph, and autotrophs use anaerobic respiration to produce carbon dioxide gas, but I am not sure if cyanobacteria used anaerobic respiration. Cyanobacteria is also a photosynthetic prokaryote that releases large amounts of oxygen into the atmosphere. I'm confused to whether cyanobacteria used

anaerobic respiration or needed oxygen to live.
