4 chocolate donuts and 1 jelly donut weigh 20 lbs. 9 chocolate donuts and 2 jelly donuts weigh 43 lbs. What does each jelly donut weigh?

OpenStudy (kymber):

those are extremely heavy donuts o_O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thus far this is what I have tried: x= weight of a jelly donut and y= weight of a chocolate donut so {4y+1x=20 {9y+2x=43} Is this the right track?

OpenStudy (kymber):

Yes! Now you can solve for x or y on one equation and plug it into the Other equation :]
