What is the distance between the zoo and the library? a. 100 feet b. 300 feet c. 600 feet d. 900 feet
distance from helicopter to zoo we'll write with X since we have angle 60^0 we can use sin x to get X ... so we have.. \[\LARGE \sin \theta =\frac{300\sqrt3}{x}\] \[\LARGE \sin60^{\circ}=\frac{300\sqrt3}{x}\] since \[\LARGE \sin60^{\circ}=\frac{\sqrt3}{2}\] we have... \[\LARGE \frac{\sqrt3}{2}=\frac{300\sqrt3}{x}\] now use cross multiply and you should get X... \[\LARGE x=600\] now use pythagoras theorem to find distance from G to Zoo \[\LARGE a^2+b^2=c^2\] substitute and tell me where are you stucked (if you get stucked somewhere) ... Good Luck !
or wait... you don't have to do that... we have angle 30^0 we can find distance from point G till to Zoo.... just use Tangent.. do you know how it goes ??
till library ... my mistake ;)
?
distance from G till library write with U now you have.. \[\LARGE \tan30^{\circ}=\frac{300\sqrt3}{u}\] find U then use pythagoran theorem and you're done !
@JustCurious Do you understand it ?
not really
what you don't understand ?
Nevermind, thanks for your help!
... No hold on ! ... don't leave without knowing it ! I'll help you more !
\[\Large \tan30^{\circ}=\[\frac{\sqrt3}{3}\]\] so we have... \[\LARGE \frac{\sqrt3}{3}=\frac{300\sqrt3}{u}\] use cross multiply and you'll get \sqrt(3)*u=3*300*sqrt(3) can you solve it ..?
