using a graphing utility to approximate the real solutions, if any, of the given equations rounded two decimal places. all solutions lie betweet -10 and 10 -x^3-7/3x^2+9/4x+4=0 what are the approximate real solutions?
You need a graphing calculator (or wolfram) to do this.
i dont have one... can u use a scientific one?
u need a graphing calculator - or some graph paper to graph the points to find out the soulution
What graphing utility are the talking about?
*they
im not sure... the answer should come out with 3 diff decimal answers..
Yes, a cubic always has 3 solutions, though not always real (and sometimes repeated). But the question says use a graphing utility which suggests to me that "they" are teaching you how to use a "graphing utility". (And therefore you should learn how to do this, because that is what the test will be) Here is wolfram (but notice you have to put parentheses around the coefficients) http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=-x%5E3-%287%2F3%29x%5E2%2B%289%2F4%29x%2B4%3D0
ohh i got it now! that will help me alot with alot of my questions!! Thank you so much!!
