\[4^{(x+7)}=6^{(x -1)}\] \[4^{x}\times4^{7}=6^{x}\div6\] Grouping like terms on each side: \[4^{7}\times6=6^{x}\div4^{x}=(6\div4)^{x}\] Taking logs to base e of each side: \[\ln (4^{7}\times6)=x \times \ln 1.5\] \[x=\ln (4^{7}\times6)\div \ln 1.5\] x=28.35
