What exactly does it mean to Bump or Close an open question? And how does it work?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

first..bump puts your question on top. let's say you asked a question 10 minutes ago and no one answered. In 10 minutes, a lot of questions could've been asked as well, which will put your question under a huge amount of other questions. bump then puts you on top so people can see. Closing a question is what you need to do before you can ask a new question. when you close a questiom, the question goes in another place (the closed questions tab) and it can never be bumped or reopened

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

actually, it can be opened, you would just have to go to the url or the closed questions tab and reopen it. but u cant bump it then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When is says to bump it will bump it to the top if u hit it. If it says close and u click close than it closes the question.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

really?? wow :O never tried that @karatechopper sorry for misinformation
