Given that these are similar triangles, every side of the small one (DEC) is proportionnal with its corresponding side in the big one (ABD). DC/DB = DE/DA 7/(7+14)=5/(5+AE) 7/21= 5/(5+AE) 5+AE = 5*21/7 = 15 AE=10
