What are Kepler's laws? That's what you need for this problem.
Yes I know that. I'm guessing I would also need the mass of the sun, the equaion related two masses m1 and m2 to gravity and the distance between the earth and the sun?
The earth rotates the sun every 1.0 years. Use Keplers laws to find the mean distance of the Comet as a multiple of the earth's orbit. Then multiple that number by the earth's orbit in kms.
