Solve for x. Explain your steps.
How does this look for an answer: *There are two triangles in the shape above. *The Triangle Sum Property states the sum of the measures of the angles of any triangle is 180 degrees. *The large triangle is missing a measure. However, we must solve for the measure (x) of the small triangle. *The large triangle and the small triangle meet at their points, creating two vertical angles. Meaning, the measure that the large triangle is missing is equal to the measure of the small triangle (2x degrees)`. *We have already been given 2 measures. Those 2 are: 58 degrees and 60 degrees. So, to find x, we must first subtract 180 from the 2 measures we have already been given. 180 - 58 = 122 122 - 60 = 62 So, 2x = 62 degrees. So, to find x, we must then divide by 2 on both sides. 2x/2 = x 62/2 = 31 Therefore, x = 31.
Perfect
Thanks :D But r u sure? XD
You are right that y = x + 5 When you substitute in 7y = 2 + x you get 7(x + 5) = 2 + x 7x + 35 = 2 + x Collect x expressions on left and integers on right 7x - x = 2 - 35 6x = -33 x = -5.5 Substitute for x in x = y - 5 -5.5 = y - 5 y = -5.5 + 5 y = -0.5 Check that both values fit in 7y = 2 + x They do. Answer x = -5.5 and y = -0.5
Wait what?XD
