OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

\[\Large \frac{\frac{x^2 -4}{x-8}}{x-2}\to \frac{\frac{(x-2)(x+2)}{x-8}}{x-2}\]

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

\[\frac{(x-2)(x+2)}{x-8} \div x-2\]\[\frac{(x-2)(x+2)}{x-8} \times \frac{1}{x-2}\]

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

you may solve now.. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that first one this:\[\frac{\left(\frac{x^2 - 4}{x-8}\right)}{x-2}\] or: \[\frac{x^2-4}{\left(\frac{x-8}{x-2}\right)}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

neither like has ()

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hint for the second one: \[x^2 - 36 = (x-6)(x+6)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean, the top division looks slightly smaller so i think @saifoo.khan 's answer is the right one, but it doesn't ever hurt to use brackets to avoid ambiguity
