I need some help setting up IDLE for a two window display like the prof has in the lectures.

The two windows you refer to are automatic in my case. One would contain the code while the other is the interpreter itself. Whenever you run IDLE the Python Shell comes up. If you File -> or File -> Open a program the second window (the editor) comes up. When you execute the code in your editor Run -> Module or press F5 the output appears int he Python Shell. Hope this helps.
